Tip! Speculations point to several causes of autism. These include genetics, environmental factors, metabolic disorders, viral infections or complications during pregnancy and delivery.
Johnny, age 7, was fascinated for hours by running water, lost in his own world. Like many autistic children he ran on his toes and flapped his hands to self-stimulate in hopes of controlling all the noise in his head. Even minor frustrations turned into emotional meltdowns including seizures.

Tip! A person who is diagnosed with autism can be treated via therapy. There are two types of therapy: physical therapy and communication therapy.
People that suffer from autism seem to live in their own worlds, they reject any contact with other persons and they do not socialize at all. Unfortunately we know so little about this disorder so the only thing we can do for autistic people is to try to understand them and to make them feel good, because there is no known cause or cure for autism. Autism manifests itself soon after the birth of a child, and it’s important that the ones around him, usually the family or the teacher detect the ones affected and seek help for them. The sooner an autistic is discovered the better for him/her, because autistics need special treatment and they need to be supervised, for they are not aware of what is right and what is wrong in most cases.

“Mommy, Mommy, Mommy! Am I stupid?” excitedly requested Christopher, nearly out of breath from the long run into the kitchen. She knew he had been playing with neighborhood children under a mighty pine tree in the side yard.
Saddened by the question and realizing he had just been tormented by the others, she tenderly gave him a hug and lovingly told him, “No, Christopher, you are not stupid.”

Tip! Medical researches have developed several treatments to help improve the quality of life of children and adults with autism. Though medications have shown encouraging results in certain cases, many of the people who actually suffer from this condition do not want such a condition to be treated, and believe that autism is a part of their being.
You’ve seen the news stories. The mercury in childhood vaccinations has been linked to everything from mental illness to developmental disorders. But are these stories actually credible or are they the result of an overzealous “natural” movement? Let’s look at the facts. Studies by four completely separate research teams working on three different continents have failed to provide any evidence linking autism to the mercury in childhood vaccines. Over and over, vaccines have been proven safe and effective for the vast majority of children.

Tip! Right now, no one expert has been able to confirm what causes autism, but one thing is certain: bad parenting IS NOT the cause of this impairment. Unfortunately, you still have some who are ready and willing to wave the idea around that a parent can inflict autism onto their child.
Many do not understand why Autistic Children are so different. We know their brains are wired differently and they do not appear to be stupid or retarded or anything of that nature. So what is the answer to all of this? Well here is a thought? No not really another theory, as there are enough theories on Autism out there already. This is more of a philosophical discussion of sorts really.
